You will find this Trastevere contemporary stylish apartment on a quiet street in a characteristic neighborhood of Rome. Natural light floods this apartment.

This apartment offers a modern and minimalistic decor. In fact, it boasts the best of both worlds: a quiet and relaxing stay while being close to all the action that Trastevere has to offer.

The high ceilings, and the white furniture and tiles add even more light and height to an already airy apartment.

The open concept, laboratory-style kitchen offers new and quality appliances. In and amongst its stainless steel worktops you will find the oven and stovetop, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster and kettle. The dining space is furnished with a round table with four chairs.

In the living room, adjacent to the kitchen, you’ll find a very large and comfortable sofa. From here, you can relax and watch TV, whilst resting your drink on the nearby coffee table. The modern artwork on the walls complete the contemporary feel of the living room.

The master bedroom offers a double bed, an amazing built-in bathtub with showerhead as well as an ensuite bathroom.

The second bedroom, on the other hand, offers a bunk bed where 2 people can comfortably sleep.

The backyard is accessible from the smaller bedroom. This is a nice relaxing area where one can sit at the end of a hectic day. There is another shower located just behind the 3 meter high bamboos.

There is a second bathroom, which is a little smaller and does not have a shower.

A fantastic feature about this place is also the vast amount of storage that is almost unnoticeable because the closets and cupboards also happens to be the walls.

The Location

This apartment is just a short stroll away from the charming square Santa Maria in Trastevere. This has a wonderful selection of typical Italian eateries, both on the piazza itself and the surrounding streets.

Trastevere’s atmosphere come evening is particularly infectious and will keep you coming back evening after evening to bask in its welcoming, warm ambiance!

For a great sunset view, climb up the Gianicolo hill. This lies just behind the busiest area of Trastevere. A few flights of stairs and a short climb or two will take you all the way to the Piazzale Garibaldi. From here you can look out over the whole of the historical center and the St Peter’s Basilica. This lies to the West, and thus offers a stunning foreground to the setting sun.

Heading across the river, you will arrive in the Campo de’ Fiori. This has a charming morning market selling fresh produce. We would recommend using this to stock up on good quality ingredients later that day!

The Campo area is incredibly central, thus allowing you to walk to all major attractions. In addition to this, the surrounding streets hold necessary facilities such as banks, post offices, pharmacies and supermarkets.

«Location Amazing, Apartment Quirky...»

We had a lovely 10 day stay in this incredible location. The apartment is in a beautiful spot, just a couple of minutes walk from everything you might possibly need, and in a beautiful residential part of Trastavere, just far enough from the tourist hotspots to give you a real feel of living in real Rome, rather than in 'tourist Rome'. WeRead More were travelling with our two kids, one an infant (1 year old) and the other a 7 year old, and the apartment was good for the family. The main living space is enormous, light and sunny, and with the windows open in the evening you have a lovely view out to the greenspaces at the top of Trastavere. The low furniture wasn't entirely kid-friendly for our almost toddler, who, the moment we took our eyes off her for a second, took to climbing (and falling!) from the top of the couch and coffee table, but with just slightly older kids, this wouldn't be a problem. We used the car pickup service to get to and from Termini station, and it worked well, though we had some issues with the pickup, owing to the City of Rome pulling up the entire street where we were to meet our driver. Once we managed to find each other, though, it was an easy arrival and worth the money for peace of mind. The apartment itself is oddly equipped - it has an eclectic mix of plates, glasses, cutlery and kitchen equipment, but we were able to get by and still did the vast majority of our own cooking without too many problems. The aircon worked well and the apartment was, for the most part, very comfortable. The vast number of cupboards meant that we were able to fully unpack our bags which, after a month and a half on the road, was a real treat. In terms of maintenance and liveability, there were a couple of issues; the door to the second bedroom wouldn't close, which made getting our son to sleep a little challenging if we wanted to use the main room for anything (admittedly, when we informed Romeloft of this, they had someone around to look at it immediately, and though they weren't able to repair it on the spot, they did say they'd address the problem, so hopefully this will be fixed for future tenants. The apartment was reasonably clean, but not gleaming, and I'd probably describe it as having a definitely 'lived in' feel. The back courtyard was pretty much un-usable. It was quite grubby and full of an odd mix of stuff - it needs a good clean out and re-organise to make it into a pleasant, liveable space for tenants. We basically only went out there to water the plants and use the washing machine, which is located in an enclosure there. Perhaps the biggest feature worth mentioning, from our point of view, was the bathroom - there basically isn't one. There's an enormous (ENORMOUS) bath/shower built into an open alcove off the master bedroom. The water was hot and the water pressure good, and it was fun for whole family showers at the end of long hot days walking around Rome. BUT, the downside of having the only functional bathroom in the master bedroom (there is a second shower out in the courtyard, but this was basically inaccessible because of several pot plants and bits and pieces) is that once someone was asleep in the room, there was no way for anyone else to bathe or shower without waking them up. Given that we had our daughter in a travel cot in that bedroom, it was more or less impossible to shower once she was asleep, which was something of a drawback. That said, the positives of the location and space and light outweighed (for us) the design issues and, for some travellers, the bedroom bathroom would probably be a real positive. From a family point of view, life in this part of Trastavere was fantastic - public transport to all the main parts of Rome was easy, the daily markets in the Piazza San Cosimato are only 2 minutes walk away, there are good supermarkets right nearby, and in the evening the playground at the piazza is filled with kids playing, which included our 7 year old most nights. Overall, we had a really good experience here.

«Comfortable and close to restaurants and sites of Rome»

As a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys it was important for us to have a base close to all the sites but also comfortable enough for us to take time out through the day. Airconditioned (hot in June), comfortable beds, wi fi and kitchen. We were just around the corner from a large number of restaurants and markets. Ideal position.

«We loved it.»

It would have been handy to have Lorenzo's telephone number as there was a demonstration in Rome centre and we couldn't get in via taxi or public transport. We were therefore late and couldn't contact him directly to let him know as he wasn't picking up his emails.

«We enjoyed a wonderful vacation!»

Three generations- four women- enjoyed 9 nights in the apt. location was perfect! Apt. served us well. However, Loft bed was very hot, so sleeper used couch instead. Five would not have fit, as advertised. Kitchen could use dish towels, and we never found an iron. It was odd to have shower in the bedroom which limited use if someone was sleepRead Moreing. But, location outweighed any complaints. Thank you, Carolyn Lyons
