For example, taking the Metro A you can travel up to the Piazza del Popolo, and the Vatican Area. Alternatively, taking the same line you can go to Termini then change to Metro B, which will, in turn, take you through to the Colosseum.
Getting off at the Piazza, you can also visit the Villa Borghese park. This is a lovely shaded green space that also has a terrace with great views over the piazza and Prati district behind it. What is more, just behind this park is the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea.
